Skilled workers have education, work
experience, knowledge of English or French and other abilities that
will help them to establish themselves successfully as permanent
residents in Canada. ImmiGlobe will assess your skills and make
recommendations on how to make improvements if necessary, before
sending your application to the appointed visa post. At ImmiGlobe we
will recommend ways to make the processing times as short as
possible.
Applications made by
people wanting to enter Canada as skilled workers (often referred to as “independent immigrants”) are
assessed according to a “point system” within which points are
awarded to the applicants on the basis of the following factors:

Education
(maximum 25 points)

Proficiency in
English and French (maximum 24 points)

Work Experience
(maximum 21 points)
-
Age (maximum 10
points)
-
Arranged
Employment (maximum 10 points)
-
Adaptability
(maximum 10 points)
To be accepted as a Skilled
Worker, applicants must meet the following minimum work experience
requirements:

have at least
one year of full-time paid work experience (within the last 10
years)
-
have work
experience in the category of Skill Type 0, or Skill Level A or B
on the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC)
-
prove that they
have the funds required for settlement; and
-
earn 67 points
in the six selection factors listed above.
Settlement Funds
You must prove you
have enough money to support yourself and your dependants after you
arrive in Canada.
